The existence of math in human society is nearly as old as humanity itself. The subject has evolved from simple calculations to the broad and complex discipline it is today. However, math has been a crucial area of study from ancient times, and as we move towards the 21st-century global economy, STEM education has become increasingly significant. But as we talk about math for children, it is more than just a subject in the classroom, and the horizon of math is beyond the test scores and mark sheets.

To understand the importance of math, let us begin with the etymology of the word mathematics, the Greek word máthēma means "what one learns", "what one gets to know", hence also "study" and "science", and in modern Greek just "lesson". Whether or not math for children in their academic learning period transforms into a career pathway, it will always help them deal with their day-to-day life efficiently.
